Israel has carried out more than 100 attacks on Palestinian places of worship in May, the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Yusuf Ida’is, revealed yesterday.

The aggressions were carried out during the successive Israeli celebrations which resulted in an increasing number of intruders. Thus, these aggressors targeted Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On the other hand, the loud celebrations transformed the city into a military facility and deprived the Muslim locals of Jerusalem from the ability to move and pray freely.”

Israeli authorities totally secured the flocks of settlers to enable them to move easily and break into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The minister also added that: “In a systematic and deliberate move, the occupation is targeting the guards of Al-Aqsa Mosque. In fact, four guards of the mosque were injured and bruised in various places of their bodies after being assaulted in the yards of the mosque.  Three among these workers were arrested and will be harassed in many ways in addition to being charged arbitrarily.”

“During the previous month and in an attempt to aggravate the situation, Netanyahu’s government held its weekly session at the Western Wall on the occasion of the so-called ‘Jerusalem Day’. This came after Netanyahu’s statement that the Western Wall and Al-Aqsa Mosque would remain under Israeli sovereignty forever,” the minister explained.

The facts indicate that the occupation and its settlers are actively seeking to evacuate Al-Aqsa Mosque by permanently attacking and arresting individual who might show any kind of resistance against these violent practice.

“The Ibrahimi Mosque located in Hebron is submitted to similar abuses,” he added.
