Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Liebermann has called on the United States to put pressure on Lebanon to expel Hamas officials, Ynet News reported on Friday.

The Israeli website revealed details of a meeting in Jerusalem between Lieberman and US Envoy to the UN Nikki Haley during which they discussed the issue.

According to Ynet News, Lieberman is claiming that the Hamas team "acts against Israel". More specifically, he said that Saleh Al-Arouri, who left Qatar recently, is now in Lebanon and is planning to attack Israel from there.

"Action must be taken to deport him from Lebanon," the extreme right-winger apparently told Haley.
