A court in southern Turkey remanded Thursday five foreign suspected Daesh members for being members of a terrorist organization.

The four Azeri nationals, and one Bosnian for whom a red notice has been issued by Interpol, were arrested Tuesday in Kilis province as they attempted to cross into Turkey from Syria illegally.

Police also recovered three kilograms of C4 type explosives, four fuses, three hand grenades, and an explosive vest in the suspects’ bags.

According to figures released by Turkish authorities, nearly 170 suspects linked to Daesh were arrested across Turkey last month.

The figures show that over 40 of the 168 Daesh suspects were remanded in custody to face trial on a variety of charges.
