The Federal Court in Washington has dropped a lawsuit filed four years ago against the Palestinian Authority and the PLO for damages suffered by American families in attacks perpetrated by Palestinians against Israeli targets.
The plaintiffs demanded about $900 million in damages.
Palestinian Minister of Finance and Planning, Shukri Bishara, expressed his satisfaction with the decision saying the court’s decision is the result of efforts made by the Palestinian Authority.
“This is a new achievement for the Palestinian leadership,” said Bishara, adding that in the previous years “we succeeded in responding to a total of five cases against us demanding huge financial compensation”.
