A Turkish soldier was killed in an attack in Turkey’s southeastern province of Hakkari, the local governor’s office said Monday.
The attack was carried out in the form of mortar and harassing fire from northern Iraq to the Tekeli-Gedik Hill in Hakkari’s Semdinli district, close to the Iranian border, a statement said.
Without giving information which terror group was behind the attack, the statement added that a wide-scale operation had been launched in the region.
