Israeli occupation forces prevented the families of eight Palestinian prisoners from Hebron from visiting family members in jail, Jordan’s Assabeel newspaper reported yesterday.
The Director of the PLO Committee for Prisoners and Former Prisoners in Hebron, Ibrahim Najajra, said all eight prisoners had partaken in the mass hunger strike which began in April.
Najajra also said that the Israeli occupation forces last week prevented seven other families from visiting their family members who are being held in jails.

He said that the Israeli occupation had “retreated” on the deal it reached with the hunger strikers, which included facilitating family visits for prisoners, noting that the prisoners are going to take new measures to counter these “violations”.

The International Committee of the Red Cross reported last week that it had been informed by Israeli authorities that there would be no family visits to a number of detainees from the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Thursday that the Israeli occupation authorities had taken the step in an effort to put pressure on Hamas.
