Islamic Jihad delegation in Egypt for talks

A senior Islamic Jihad delegation headed to Cairo to discuss mutual relations as well as the latest development in the Palestinian cause, Quds Press reported yesterday.

Speaking to the news site, the group’s spokesperson, Daud Shihab said that the delegation of consisted of the Secretary-General Ramadan Shallah and his deputy Ziyad Al-Nakhla who both live in exile.

He noted that this visit came following an invitation from Egypt in an effort to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza and other developments on the ground.

This visit comes after a similar visit by the group in March.

A Hamas delegation has made two similar visits to Egypt in recent months.

Discussions during the meetings circled around mutual relations, border issues, the electricity crisis, fuel, healthcare, commercial exchange amongst others.
