The Islamic Bloc in universities in the occupied West Bank launched a large-scale campaign titled “Students for Al-Aqsa”.

The campaign is made up of a series of events and activities led by students in all Palestinian universities, with the participation of all those who support Al-Aqsa Mosque and the people of Jerusalem.

In a statement, the Bloc called on all students to travel to Al-Aqsa Mosque and to organise a sit-in outside its doors or to reach the nearest point that leads to the mosque.

The statement called on “all the components of the student movement, trade unions and members of administrative and academic bodies to join the campaign and move immediately to repel the continued aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque. We call on Palestinian university departments to support students’ political activities and provide them with the means to succeed.”

The Bloc called on the Palestinian people, with all factions, institutions and groups to be active at a time when “the occupation is trying to assert its control over the city of Jerusalem and its sanctities”. It called on the media and journalists to give Jerusalem the utmost importance in their coverage.
