The criminal brigade in Casablanca, Morocco, on Monday arrested three individuals, including one girl, suspected of being involved in the planning, preparation and execution of the murder of a Gabonese national living in Morocco.
The decomposed body of the victim was discovered on 30 June in his apartment, the General Directorate of National Security said in a statement.
Investigations into the case also resulted in the arrest of four other suspects involved in stealing property from the victim’s apartment. Investigations led to the discovery of a computer, a mobile phone and a chain as well as a ring belonging to the victim.
The seven suspects were placed in police custody for the purpose of the investigation, which is under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
It is unclear yet why the Gabonese national was targeted and killed but an investigation is currently underway to reveal the motive.
