The Israeli occupation authorities opened on Friday evening all the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque without any conditions or age restrictions, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Islamic Waqf, which is responsible for the Islamic sites in the city, confirmed that all the gates were reopened without age restrictions.

Earlier on Friday, the Israeli police announced that Palestinian worshipers under 50 years would not be allowed into Al-Aqsa Mosque. That sparked renewed protests which evoked a violent Israeli crackdown.

Later, Firas al-Dibs, a spokesman for the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf, announced that the “Israeli police will open all the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque without any exceptions or restrictions”.

Al-Dibs confirmed to Anadolu Agency that all the gates of Al-Aqsa had been opened, including the Bab Hitta Gate.
