Seven Palestinian students have been killed by Israeli forces so far this year and a further 284 students, teachers, and employees, have been injured, a report by the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education has revealed.

According to the document, 170 students were arrested, four were placed under house arrest, as was a school principle and 27 teachers and administrators were arrested. Furthermore, 634 students and 183 teachers were detained.

The report revealed that the occupation sent demolition orders or stopped construction work at eight schools.

According to the ministry, the occupation’s measures and violations led to the complete disruption of study in three schools, as well as partial disruption of study in nine other schools. The report also noted that the occupation’s actions led to 1,516 classes being missed due to the closure of checkpoints, raids and suspension of school days in order for settlers to mark Jewish holidays.

Some 52 schools were subject to various attacks and violations, totalling 172 violations, including the occupation soldiers firing sound bombs and tear gas in the school courtyards, causing fear and panic amongst the students.
