Kuwait has denied reports that it permitted Iran to use its territorial waters to support the Yemen war yesterday, Annahar reported.

The Foreign Ministry of Kuwait refuted news that Iran is using its national waters as a path to arm Yemen’s Houthi group. Kuwaiti waters are controlled by the navy and coast guard, a source at the ministry said, adding that there had been “no reports of suspicious marine movements or activities”.

Yesterday, Reuters reported that the Iranian National Guard had been using the waters between Kuwait and Iran as a new route through the Gulf to smuggle arms shipments to the Houthi armed group. The reports suggested that Iran was using smaller boats to avoid detection.
