Jordan’s King Abdullah II today headed to the UK after a brief visit to Ramallah in the occupied West bank.

The Jordanian King’s visit comes as the official Petra news agency announced that Jordanian officers, including his son Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II, will be taking part in the graduation ceremony of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan will also be present at the event.

King Abdullah II held a two-hour visit to Ramallah earlier today, during which he held a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian arena.

Abbas spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said the king reiterated his full support of the Palestinian people and of the Abbas-led Palestinian Authority (PA), while Abbas expressed his appreciation of Jordan for “defending” the Palestinian cause on the international stage.

Both heads of state agreed to continue coordinating over the fate of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and occupied East Jerusalem.
