Negotiations with Israel are dependent on it stopping its illegal settlement activities as well as its agreement to hold talks on the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO)’s Executive Committee member, Hanna Amira, said yesterday.

According to a statement by Amira, the PLO’s executive committee meeting held on Saturday mainly discussed the new PLO body’s elections, noting that high level communications and consultations are currently taking place for holding the Palestinian National Council (PNC).

He pointed out that the meeting also discussed several issues including the importance of the PNC, filing a lawsuit at the International Criminal Court over Israel’s settlement activity as well as the influx of the US nationals to the region.
