Qatar’s Defence Ministry announced on Saturday the conclusion of a joint exercise between the Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College and the British Armed Forces; the third between the two countries in a month. The Directorate of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defence said in a statement that the exercise, which was held at the Sennybridge Training Camp in Brecon, Wales, lasted three weeks.

The exercise “focused on training the candidate cadets in three stages, which are fighting in built-up areas, defence and training with live ammunition and movement in the battlefield,” the statement said.

The exercise comes five days after the conclusion of joint exercises of the Qatari Navy with the British Royal Navy in the Gulf state’s territorial waters. Doha said it was intended to “support efforts to combat terrorism and piracy as well as maintain security and stability in the region.”During the past few weeks, Qatar has conducted a number of joint military exercises with Western forces, including with the US, Turkey and France.
