Kuwait looks to increase economic links with Sudan

Kuwait is eager to improve its economic relations with Sudan, the state news agency KUNA reported the chairman of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Industry and Commerce saying yesterday.

In a press conference held after meeting the head of the National Sudanese Council, Professor Ibrahim Omer, Ali Al-Ghanim said that Kuwait maintains historic economic relations with Sudan and it is one of the pioneering investors there.

The Gulf state has many investment projects in Sudan adding that new laws need to be put in place to help increase investment in the African country.

Al-Ghanim said that the visit of the Sudanese official and the accompanying delegation aimed at reinforcing existed economic relations between the two countries and to increase Sudanese commercial visits to Kuwait.

The Sudanese official reiterated that the visit aimed at reinforcing the good relations between Sudan and Kuwait, stressing on the importance of the commercial exchange between the two countries.

He called for the members of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Industry and Commerce to visit his country to have a close look at investment opportunities.
