Observers said that the statement came after a visit from the military commanders of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous Brigade – the largest Libyan military unit that supports Al-Sarraj – to Qatar where they met the Qatari Emir and his Defence Minister Khalid Al-Atiyeh.

Al-Sarraj warned the military of carrying out such meetings without his knowledge or his consent, stressing that such acts are opposed to Libyan law and those that defy this must be held accountable.
