The Yemeni prime minister declared yesterday that victory against the Houthi armed group is imminent, Asharq Al-Awsat, reported.

Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghar, in a meeting with governors from the Amran and Rima provinces, praised the military role of Yemeni tribes defending the region from the Houthis and forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Houthi armed group took control of the capital Sana’a in 2014, pushing forward with military advancements towards southern Yemen. The inclusion of the Saudi-led coalition’s aerial bombing campaign on Houthi positions has hindered their progress, stalling the conflict dynamic into a stalemate.
