Egypt detains 12 Palestinians at Cairo airport

August 23, 2017 at 10:04 pm

Egyptian authorities detained 12 Palestinians at Cairo International Airport since Thursday, local official sources reported today, a week after it reopened the Rafah border crossing to allow Palestinians to travel in and out of the Gaza Strip.

The sources explained that the security officers at the airport have prevented Palestinians from neither entering the country nor departing to their homeland in Gaza “without a reason.” The detainees were also prevented to meet to anybody.

The detainees included one of the victims of the 2014 Gaza war, Musab Zaher, who was receiving his medical treatment abroad.
