Some 48 Palestinians, including ten children and six women, were injured across the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) after being attacked by Israeli forces over the last two week, according to a new UN report.

The latest “Protection of Civilians Report” for the period from 12-25 September also revealed that 152 Palestinians were arrested during that period, including 20 children.

Twenty-one structures were demolished in Area C of the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem on the basis that they lacked the necessary building permits. Twenty-nine people were displaced as a result, including 16 children, OCHA’s report said.

During the same period, 400 olive trees were set on fire by Israeli settlers, bringing the total number of Palestinian-owned trees which were vandalised so far this year to 2,800, significantly higher than the 1,650 damaged last year.

Many Palestinian activists and rights groups have accused Israel of fostering a “culture of impunity” for Israeli settlers and soldiers committing violent acts against Palestinians.
