Head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, said yesterday that achieving reconciliation is a strategic decision that the movement will not back down from, noting that the movement is united in this decision.

During a meeting organised by the Hamas Youth Department in Gaza, Sinwar said that Hamas will do all it can to achieve reconciliation and end division, adding that he will not allow any party to hinder it.

He noted that division between Palestinians is very dangerous and Hamas will not remain party to it. Therefore, he said, the movement made the strategic decision to pursue reconciliation.

Sinwar called on all parties to move away from blaming each other and to instead enter the practical phase of reconciliation.
