Netanyahu: 'We will not allow Iranian military bases in Syria'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would not allow the existence of Iranian military bases in Syria.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Media Office confirmed in a statement that, During a meeting with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoygu, Netanyahu discussed “Iran’s attempts to establish military bases in Syria” by saying: “Iran must understand that Israel will not allow this.”

On Monday, the Russian Defence Minister, Sergei Shoygu, said that the Russian military operation against militants and “terrorists” in Syria will end soon.

“I would like to discuss all the issues related to Syria, the process there will end soon and there are many points that require immediate solutions that need to be discussed,” Shoygu said during a meeting with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman in Tel Aviv.
