Saudi authorities impose conditions for release of preachers

October 25, 2017 at 2:21 pm

The famous Saudi Twitter personality known as Mujtahid said yesterday that Saudi authorities were conducting a bargaining process over the release of a number of detainees.

According to Mujtahid, freedom costs a great deal:

“A number of detainees are being held in prison. Their release requires that they “publicly” confess against the rest of the detainees, and they say they have previously received support from Qatar.”This is part of an escalation by the Kingdom against Qatar for allegedly funding terrorism. The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, also hinted at this yesterday.

Al-Jaber said that the Gulf crisis bears the potential for development and warned that the escalation of the crisis will have “extremely devastating consequences on the security of the Gulf States and their people”.

Mujtahid’s tweet came a day after authorities prevented preacher Salman Al-Ouda’s children from leaving the country, which also appears to be an escalation by the Kingdom.Abdullah, son of Al-Ouda, published a tweet complaining about the situation of his family:

“These young brothers .. They lost their mother in an accident months ago.. Then their father was arrested…They are now banned from travelling!Praise to Allah who is the only one praised even in hardships. “In parallel with the security crackdown launched by the Saudi authorities against a number of famous preachers, Saudi newspapers have accused them of promoting Qatari charities.
