Russian president, Putin visits Iran

Russian President, Vladimir Putin arrived in Tehran on Wednesday where he will discuss a number of issues including the Syrian crisis, Iran’s nuclear program and the strengthening of economic cooperation between Russia and Iran, Iranian state television reported.

Putin who arrived in Mehrabad airport in central Tehran participated in a three-way summit with Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani and visiting Azerbaijani President, llham Aliyev.

Putin will also meet Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Putin’s last visit to Tehran was in November, 2015.
