PA arrests Hamas leader in West Bank

November 15, 2017 at 10:56 am

Palestinian Authority (PA) yesterday arrested a Hamas leader and summoned a freed prisoner in the occupied West Bank for questioning, QudsNet reported.

In a statement, Hamas said that the PA security apparatus had arrested its leader Musa Zahran from the West Bank city of Ramallah and summoned Rami Abu-Samra in Tulkarm.

Zahran, the statement added, started a hunger strike as soon as he was arrested.

PA security services have also arrested former prisoner Bahjat Yamin in Qalqilya several days ago. Yamin suffers from numerous medical conditions due to the torture he has suffered during previous detentions, Hamas explained.

Condemning the arrests, the movement said the PA had not ceased its aggressions against it since the signing of the reconciliation agreement in Cairo last month.
