Saudi Arabia yesterday announced the start of preparations in the capital Riyadh to receive a package of services for the Pakistani army, in preparation for the implementation of the mixed exercise in the coming period.

The head of the Saudi Special Security Forces, Major General Mufleh Bin Sulayem Al-Otaibi, said that the exercise aims to exchange military expertise in combating terrorism and raise the level of performance, efficiency and readiness of the participating military forces of the two countries.

He explained that the exercise is part of several training sessions carried out by the special security forces with some countries in the fight against terrorism and mountain wars and fighting in open areas, and an extension of the Shahab 1 which was carried out last year with great success in Pakistan.

On 28 October, Saudi, Pakistani and Turkish forces concluded exercises in the 2017 Centre for Air Excellence and trained Al-Samasam 6 between the Saudi ground forces and their Pakistani counterparts which included training in military operations with live ammunition and ambushes.
