The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas strongly condemned the terrorist bombing targeting worshippers in Al-Rawda Mosque, located in Beir Al-Abed, Sinai.

According to a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Resalah, the movement considered “targeting mosques, worshippers and places of worship a violation of all religious and humanitarian values. It is a blatant challenge to every Muslim across the world, provokes their emotions and targets the nation’s doctrine.”

The movement also “offers its condolences to Egypt, its people, and the victims’ families” and wishes a speedy recovery to all of those wounded.

According to Egypt’s Middle East News Agency, 155 people were killed, including soldiers, while 80 others were wounded in an attack today on the Al-Rawda Mosque, close to the city of Al-Arish in northern Sinai.

Egyptian sources reported “armed militants raised Al-Rawda Mosque, in the village of Al-Rawda, east of Al-Arish, and detonated an explosive device near the mosque during Friday prayers. They then opened fire on worshippers”

“The armed individuals set fire to the people’s cars and blocked all roads leading to the village,” they added.
