Egypt confiscates property of 14 people linked to Brotherhood

The Egyptian authorities decided on Friday to confiscate property belonging to 14 individuals due to their links with the Muslim Brotherhood, Almesryoon.com has reported. The property in question is said to be owned by close relatives of members and officials of the movement, which has been banned in Egypt since the 2013 military coup brought Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to power.

The committee assigned by the authorities to carry out this measure said that it includes the confiscation of all moveable and immoveable property, whether it is directly or indirectly owned by the Muslim Brotherhood officials.

It added that the owners of these properties are banned from operating their bank accounts, deposits, bonds, banknotes and anything related to financial services under the sovereignty of the Central Bank.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian authorities have decreed that confiscated property of any Muslim Brotherhood official or member will not be released to his heirs unless they are definitely not part of the movement.
