Egypt to build 4,000 new factories led by Armed Forces

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi stated yesterday that his country is seeking to build 4,000 factories for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The timeline for this is “six months to a year at the most”. The project will be led by the Armed Forces.

In his speech at the opening of several development projects in the city of 10th of Ramadan, Al-Sisi did not mention when the construction would begin, the costs, or who is funding the project.

The Egyptian president also noted that the Housing Ministry, in cooperation with the Military Engineering Authority, will carry out the project which will create 40,000 jobs.
