Israel arrests 2 women from Negev, claims they tried to join Daesh

The Israeli intelligence agency, Shin Bet, announced yesterday that it arrested two young women from the Bedouin village of Lakiya, near Beersheba, on claims that they tried to join Daesh.

According to the agency, the two detainees are Rahma and Tasnim Al-Asad, 19. They were arrested in December by Shin Bet and the police in a joint operation.

The agency claimed that the two girls had links to terrorists affiliated with Daesh, and that they tried to join the organisation in Syria. The agency also claimed that they planned to carry out attacks in Israeli territories, in coordination with members of the organisation abroad.

The Israeli prosecution filed an indictment against the two girls before the Beersheba Court.
