Senior leader of the Palestinian Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Omar Shehada said yesterday that Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas would be held accountable for ignoring previous decisions made by the Palestinian National Council (PNC), Safa news agency reported.

In a written press release, he said: “The PFLP will propose a question about the reason that the PLO was not convened in the wake of the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.”

He said that the PFLP would seek to identify those behind the delay in holding a PLO meeting.

Salim Al-Za’noun, head of the PNC, has announced that the council would convened in the presidential headquarters in Ramallah on Monday and Tuesday.

According to Al-Za’noun, the PNC is to make a “comprehensive review for the past stages and to look for work strategies and laying down a national plan to face the challenge facing Palestinian aspirations.”
