A famous Yemeni activist who was abducted by the Houthi group in August last year has been released, the group's spokesperson told MEMO.
Al-Omeisy was released three days ago after five months of detention.
"Hisham Al-Omeisy is free, the decision was made three days ago," Muhammad Al-Bukhaithi, spokesperson for the Houthi armed group told MEMO.

Twitter users, including close associates and friends celebrated the news.
Thirty-eight-year-old Al-Omeisy was detained in August at Jawlat Al-Misbahi, outside Sana'a, by approximately 15 armed security officers last year.
Al-Omeisy's political voice rose to prominence during the Arab Spring and the Yemen civil war via social media.
The Hashtag #FreeHisham was used to raise awareness following his abduction.
