Dozens of families benefitting from the Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF) food programme protested in front of the UNDP High Representative’s headquarters in Gaza City.

11,000 families, made up of 65,000 individuals, receive aid from the CHF.

Over a month ago, the US reduced the food aid given to these families, similar to the measures taken regarding reducing aid provided to UNRWA refugees.

Recipients were given a food grant, since the vouchers to use at supermarkets to purchase pulses and milk have been cancelled and the only aid given to the families is flour, which will not enough to sustain these families.

Protestors carried empty pots expressing the dire need for this food aid. They urged the free people of the world, as well as various organisations and countries, to pressure the US to resume funding this grant and not linking its funding to political affairs.
