A group of Palestinian activists stormed the hall of the Palestinian Chamber of Commerce in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem yesterday and forced a US delegation to leave, pelting its vehicles with tomatoes, Huff Post reported.

The activists raised posters criticising the US’ recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and American policies towards the Palestinians.

Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bethlehem Samir Hazboun said: “The US delegation took part in a training course about digital trade taught by an American trainer. Americans from the US Consulate in Jerusalem attended the training.”

“We were surprised by the angry protesters … and we were forced to end the course and let the US trainer leave with the delegation from the US Consulate.”

Late yesterday, the Palestinian Authority security agencies summoned a large number of the activists for questioning.
