Israel attack on historic mosque in Jaffa city

February 2, 2018 at 9:33 am

An extremist Israeli attacked a historic mosque in the city of Jaffa yesterday.

Sheikh Ahmed Ajwa, the imam of the Hassan Bek Mosque in Jaffa, part of the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality in Israel, said an unidentified man approached the mosque during the muezzin’s call for the dawn prayers and threw an empty bottle at the mosque.

Abu Ajwa added that an unidentified man who speaks Hebrew insulted Islam and Muslims and then threw a bottle with an unknown material at the mosque’s front gate.

He pointed out that this is not the first attack against the iconic mosque, and he expects it will not be the last.

Sheikh Abu Ajwa held the Israeli police and security forces fully responsible for the attacks, calling on Palestinian citizens of the city to intensify their presence at the mosque.
