Palestinian PM meets with Israeli financial minister

February 21, 2018 at 9:55 am

Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Rami Hamadallah met on Monday with Israeli Financial Minister Moshe Kahlon and the Israeli Government Coordinator in the Occupied Territories Yoav Mordechai in Ramallah, the Palestinian Information Centre reported.

In a statement Hamadallah’s office said that they discussed “important issues” including the Israeli government’s decision to build thousands of settlement units and deduct money from the PA taxes paid to Palestinian prisoners and families of Palestinians killed by Israel.

Last Wednesday Hamadallah met Mordechai and the UN Envoy to the Middle East Peace Process Nicolai Mladeniv, while the PA Economic Minister Abeer Odeh met with her Israeli counterpart in Paris.

These meetings suggest the PA was not credible when it announced it is planning for full disengagement with Israel and halting security cooperation.
