A highly-classified document about the Israeli occupation forces and signed by Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman has been posted on the internet, Haaretz reported on Tuesday.

The document reveals classified information concerning the capabilities and operational methods of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). The newspaper noted that the leaking of such materials constitutes an extremely grave violation of security.

According to Haaretz, at least two sections of the document mention details of systems which were previously kept secret. “At least one of them is so highly confidential,” explained an army spokesman, “that its name cannot even be mentioned on the telephone due to its sensitivity and the fear that any information about it will be made known.”

He added that the details of a second system is so top secret that its publication exposes the capabilities of the IDF. The leak, he insisted, will be investigated.

The document leaked online, said Haaretz, also revealed information about a related system, publicity about which is forbidden. The Israeli daily pointed out that although the information was available for anyone to see on the internet, if any media outlet publishes it then it would be seen as a violation of military censorship regulations.
