Palestinian MP and dismissed Fatah leader Mohammed Dahlan called on Tuesday for setting up a national team to investigate the explosion that hit the convoy of the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in Gaza, Shehab.ps reported.

Dahlan condemned the attack, noting that it aimed to damage the ongoing efforts to reach national reconciliation.

He also called for the different parties to cooperate in this investigation and stressed on bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The Palestinian MP, who lives in exile, said that the Israeli occupation is the only beneficiary from this attack, and noted that it is the only side which is benefitting from pushing the Palestinian situation towards “the abyss and deepening the internal division.”

On Tuesday morning, an explosion targeted Hamdallah’s convoy minutes after entering the Gaza Strip, with Fatah along with the PA accusing Hamas of carrying out the attack.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza announced it had arrested two suspects and said it has started an investigation into the incident and will announce the findings as soon as it is finished.
