Real Madrid football star, Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his solidarity with the people and children of Eastern Ghouta and called on them not to give up.
In a video clip recorded for Save the Children and published on his Twitter account, Ronaldo shared footage of the daily bombardment against Eastern Ghouta and wrote "Be Strong. Have faith. Never give up."
The Portuguese football star had already donated medical, food and clothing for Syrian children through the organization.
Eastern Ghouta, home to some 400,000 civilians, has been under violent attack by the Syrian regime and its supporters for weeks which led to killing and injuring hundreds of civilians, including women and children.
The UN Security Council passed on February 24 a resolution calling for an immediate cease- fire for 30 days and lifting the blockade, but the Syrian regime did not comply with the resolution.
