Eastern Ghouta, home to some 400,000 civilians, has been under violent attack by the Syrian regime and its supporters for weeks which led to killing and injuring hundreds of civilians, including women and children.

The UN Security Council passed on February 24 a resolution calling for an immediate cease- fire for 30 days and lifting the blockade, but the Syrian regime did not comply with the resolution.
