Fate of Algerian athlete who assaulted British girl in Amman

The High Criminal Court sentenced an Algerian athlete who assaulted a British minor in an elevator at a hotel in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to five years of hard labour.

The crime of rape associated with defilement was not proven to the court. However, the crime of rape with the consent of the victim was proven.

The court was show evidence including a video from the hotel’s camera showing the circumstances of the incident.

The mother of the victim, a British national, filed a complaint about the rape of her 13-year-old  daughter inside an elevator at a hotel in Amman, where the defendant was on a sports delegation.
