Israeli occupation forces yesterday raided the Arab village of Umm Al-Hiran in the Negev and handed over demolition orders to its residents, the Safa News Agency reported.

Activist Khaled Abu Kharma said that the Israeli occupation police raided the village and stuck eviction orders on its houses, asking the villagers to leave before 1 April when the village is due to be demolitioned.

Umm Al-Hiran’s Popular Committee called for all Arabs to gather in the village to prevent the Israeli occupation from raiding and demolishing it.

Israel is expelling the residents of Umm Al-Hiran, along with the residents of more than 40 other unrecognised Arab villages in the Negev, in order to use the land for settlement projects.

Residents of these villages are Palestinians who did not leave their lands when Zionist militias attacked before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948.
