The family of Palestinian teen Ahed Tamimi yesterday released video footage from her interrogation by Israeli occupation forces.
The video shows the 17-year-old being questioned without the presence of a lawyer at Israel’s Shaar Binyamin detention centre in the occupied West Bank on 26 December.
The Israeli interrogators used verbal threats and intimidation techniques to coerce Ahed into cooperating with Israeli authorities.
These tactics were used “just to get her to interact with the interrogators,” Bassem Tamimi, her father, told reporters at the conference.
Tamimi is serving an eight month jail term in an Israeli jail after reaching a plea bargain in March. The teen was arrested in December after video footage circulated showing her slapping an Israeli occupation soldier who was standing on her family’s property. Moments earlier she had discovered that her cousin had been shot in the head by Israeli soldiers.
