Speculation rife over Syria strike

According to a series of tweets from, Thomas Wictor, a self styled military historian and story teller, a recent commando attack on the Syrian Tayfur military airbase was carried out by Saudi Arabia.

The Syrian media has announced that several missiles targeted Tayfur military airbase in the countryside of the city of Homs, killing 14 members of the Syrian army and Iranian forces.

Wictor’s tweets shared a number of photographs, which he said were from the scene of the attack, which appeared to show that new aerial munitions which might have been used.

Wictor stated that the photographs suggest that Special Forces carried an attack, which included using bombers, missiles, heavy machine guns and light cannons.

Despite interacting with Wictor’s tweets,  Arabi Post could not confirm the authenticity of the photos published, whether they belonged to Tayfur database or if they were recent images or not.
