Israeli occupation forces have arrested some 2,700 Palestinians since US President Donald Trump announced his administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission revealed yesterday.

Of those detained, 600 are minors, while torture of prisoners has escalated, prisoners’ rights group warned.

The body said that there are no red lines for the Israeli government in its dealing with the detainees. Every detainee is beaten, tortured and humiliated from the moment of his arrest and during interrogation, it added.

Jerusalem has witnessed the highest number of arrests, the group said, with 570, including 70 minors and 22 females detained.
