May 1, 2018 at 12:42 pm

Holding the Palestinian National Council (PNC) meeting in occupied Ramallah yesterday without national consensus is “a falsification of the truth and a separation project”, a senior Hamas official said yesterday.

Mousa Abu Marzouk said that holding the Palestinian National Council (PNC) meeting in the occupied city of Ramallah yesterday, without national consensus is

“The PNC cannot be a sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people while excluding Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] and a large number of the Palestinian people’s factions,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Is it still a liberation organisation after it recognised the Israeli entity and shattered its charter which talked about liberating Palestine and the right of return?” he asked.

Hamas: PNC meeting ‘blatantly violates the unity of our people’

Meanwhile, Hamas spokesman, Abdullatif Al-Qanoua warned in a statement that holding the PNC is a “danger to the Palestinian people’s future and unity” and described the participants as “part of the future separation project”.

The PNC was held in Ramallah yesterday and is due to continue until Thursday.
