Deputy Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, General Hossein Salami said yesterday that Iran is not afraid of US sanctions or attacks, the Fars news agency reported.
“Our nation is not afraid of US sanctions or military attack. Our enemies, including America, the Zionist regime and their allies in the region must know that Iran is ready for the worst scenarios and threats,” he added.
Salami made the remarks hours before US President Donald Trump announced that he would be abandoning the Iran nuclear deal which was signed between the Islamic Republic and the world powers.
Trump said in a televised address from the White House that he would reimpose US economic sanctions on Iran to undermine “a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made.”
