Israeli occupation forces arrested Ahed Tamimi’s older brother Waed from his family home in the village of Nabi Saleh, to the north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

His arrest follows the occupation’s policy of targeting the village of Nabi Saleh and targeting the Tamimi family in the village as a result of their activism and resistance.

Israeli occupation forces stormed the village, raided the Tamimi house and ransacked it. They then arrested Waed.

Seventeen-year-old Ahed is serving an eight month term in an Israeli jail after reaching a plea bargain in March. The teen was arrested in December after video footage circulated showing her slapping an Israeli occupation soldier who was standing on her family’s property. Moments earlier she had discovered that her cousin had been shot in the head by Israeli soldiers.

Her mother, who filmed the footage, was also arrested and has since been held.
