The Fatah movement leader Yahya Rabah, has responded to an Israeli claim that following the end of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s time in office, there will be a breakdown of authority and the an alternative, wherein the West Bank and Gaza will be split into “local emirates”, calling it propaganda.

Rabah told Quds News Agency that “Since it has become clear that there is no way to reach a solution in our conflict with Israel, and since we started an open battle under the leadership of Palestinian national legitimacy, the Israel has been promoting rumours about the deteriorating health condition of President Abbas.”

He stressed that the news circulated about the health condition of the president are completely exaggerated. Rabah pointed out that in recent days President Abbas has suffered from an infection in the ear but everything is fine now. “The president is making tremendous efforts as a result of his work obligations, and he has the good habit of conducting periodic examinations to check on his health,” he said.
