Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi will discuss with the heads of the parties and organisations participating in drafting the Carthage 2 document if Prime Minister Youssef Chahed will continue as head of government in the next two days; Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported.
According to the agency, a source in the Carthage 2 drafting committee said a disagreement broke out between its members on whether to include replacing Chahed in the document or leave it for discussion during a meeting between Essebsi and the heads of parties and organisations.
The source, who asked not to be named, told the Anadolu Agency that “Carthage 2 will be signed by President Essebsi and the expert committee on Thursday or Friday at the latest”.
Chahed has been prime minister since August 2016.
