4,277 travel through Rafah crossing in 10 days

Some 4,277 people have travelled through the Rafah crossing in the ten days since 12 May 2018, a report by the government ‘s Information Office in the besieged Gaza Strip has revealed.

On average 388 passengers travel through the crossing and 490 Palestinians return to Gaza every day, the report showed.

Of  those who have travelled, 17 per cent hold Egyptian passports.

Only three people who required medical attention were able to travel to Egypt, while 30 headed to Jordan via the Israeli controlled Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

Aid worth nearly $199,000 also arrived in the Strip, the official document revealed, including food parcels, medicines and supplies.
